Joe Harris Elementary School is a K-5 public school that opened in Rio Rancho, NM in August 2020. The school is named in memory of Deputy Joe Harris, a Sandoval County Sheriff’s Deputy, and beloved community member, who tragically lost his life in the line of duty. Our mascot is the Retrievers, affectionately named for Deputy Harris’ golden retriever, Harley.
The mission of the Joe Harris Elementary School PTO is to enrich the educational experience of our students and support our staff through:
- Fundraising and fund distribution.
- Hosting school-wide events to create a fun and engaging atmosphere that helps build a strong school community.
- Celebrate our students, JHE staff and our PTO volunteers through student appreciation efforts, staff appreciation events and an end of year PTO member appreciation dinner.
The Joe Harris Elementary PTO is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and while we work hand-in-hand with the school, we are a separate entity.
