Get Involved with the PTO
Join us to help support our school and work with a team who is excited about making great things happen. We can’t do this without our volunteers and whether you help in ways big or small, we need you and we have a place for you. Come make a difference with us!
Contribute as a General Volunteer
If you are new to the PTO or want to help in different ways without an ongoing commitment, you can volunteer at specific events as your schedule allows. General Volunteers help with final event preparation, event support and day of set up/clean up. We’ll have sign-up sheets prior to each event with roles and time slots and you can sign up for as many, or few, as you like. PTO membership is not required to be a General Volunteer and everyone is needed and welcome to help.
Join as a General Member
Annual membership is only $10 per person or $25 with a PTO T-shirt. Membership is not required to attend meetings or volunteer with the PTO, but it helps support the organization and every membership helps fund important projects. Join now!
Join a Committee
The PTO sponsors multiple school-wide events throughout the school year and we need a core team for each event. Committee members will work under the guidance of the Committee Lead(s) on the planning, decision making and implementation of each event. Joining a committee is a great way to make an ongoing impact and share your ideas to help make each event the best it can be.
Lead a Committee
Are you a planner or an organizer with strong management and people skills? Do you have a vision for an event that you want to help bring to reality? You could be great at being a Committee Lead. Committee Leads are responsible for event planning, guiding committee members, establishing timelines and meeting deadlines in a positive way that makes volunteering fun and rewarding for volunteers. Being a Committee Lead is a higher level responsibility and time commitment and gives members the opportunity to let their leadership skills shine. PTO membership and a current RRPS background check is required for all Committee Lead positions.
Serve on the Board of Directors
This is the largest commitment level and it’s where members can make an ongoing impact. Board positions are elected positions and elections take place each April for the following school year. The board makes decisions on fundraisers, how funds are spent and which events to host for the year. We meet monthly as a board and host monthly general meetings. Many board members will also serve on committees, but it is not a requirement as we want to create opportunities for all members to contribute and lead. PTO membership and a current RRPS background check is required for all PTO Board positions.
